Small Business Owners Increasingly Recruit Employees With Disabilities. (06/05/2018)

The AP (6/1, Rosenberg) reported, “Many small business owners are open to hiring or specifically recruit people who have disabilities,” while “the unemployment rate for people with disabilities who want to be hired is 8 percent.” Because of state and federal laws, employers may be required to help employees with disabilities who “need help balancing their work and their personal or medical needs” by means of “flexible work hours, time off for doctor appointments and desks that can be raised or lowered.”
